Religion or Science? Empty Religion or Science?

Post by Admin December 24th 2013, 11:33 pm

I do realize that this is a very touchy topic, especially on the side of religion. In my opinion, it has to be covered at one point.

Throughout the ages, man has relied on its faith to fill in the gaps of the mind. In the earlier times, we relied on religion. Catholicism, to the extent of my knowledge. In more modern times, we look at figures and studies to feed our ever curious minds. However, have we ever wondered on certain topics which is true?

A good example of this is in the book of the Christian Bible, it's said that man was made in God's image and was created after the animals had been made. While on the science side, scientists theorize that we evolved from monkeys.

    So... debate!

Disclaimer: The religious side is not limited to Christianity/Catholicism. It can be Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.

Religion or Science? Empty Re: Religion or Science?

I'm a Christian, but I don't think that religion and science need to be opposing forces. I personally believe that science (such as physics and biology) is a set of rules implemented by God in order for the world to function. Events such as evolution are tools created by Him and does not conflict with basic Christian beliefs.

    Here's the short answer:
The story of God creating the world and everything in it during a six day period was the bible writers' way of making a story that would be understandable at that time period. It was inspired by God, but not actually the truth that we go by today. Humans developed over a long period of time. Although it seems unlikely that humans would somehow evolve from fish, primates, or other animals; we do possess qualities of those animals, and we have adapted these qualities over many years.
The Church settled Evolution vs. Creationism a long time ago, although there are quite a few people who do believe in Creationism.
